Numbness, no feeling week after surgery ?

I had my tonsils removed a week ago today. Two days after the surgery I noticed my left side of the tounge was numb and swollen. When I stick my tounge out the left side has this big (but soft) lump on the side. A week later, it is still completely numb and I cannot taste anything. Will this go away? I'm a bit concerned.

Sometimes they might accidentally hit a nerve when they're giving you the local anistesia and it will be dumb for like a week! BUt I think after like 7-10 days if it's still completely numb, I would go talk to the doctor about it.
