Thank you very much guys for responding so quickly. I did a little internet search on the subject last night and from what I’ve seen so far - and I am not a doctor nor trying to make a diagnosis - it could be something similar to a skin eruption called Schamberg’s Purpura. I’m not sure if I’m allowed to post links to sites on this board (I don’t want to find myself in the position of advertising anything). Anyway, from what I’ve read it begins as tiny red spots on the lower legs, but with time these spots turn yellow-brown or rust color. These red spots don’t blanch when you put pressure on them and only in rare cases does it itch. It can be caused by bleeding of tiny capillaries in the skin or by increased fluid pressure in the lower legs from standing or keeping the legs in a dependent position for long periods. When the leaked blood is reabsorbed yellow-brown iron deposits are left in the skin which cause a brown stain. These stains may last months or years. It is a harmless disease and treatment may or may not improve the condition. It is a disease that many people develop due to their demanding lifestyle. My life has been a bit busy and hectic the last six months, so that could explain it a bit. From the pictures I’ve seen and the info I’ve read what I have on my ankles could be the above disease. However, I am going to book an appointment with my dermatologist because after all he knows better than me.

When I find anything else on the subject I will let everyone know.
Thank you again Des 1017 and Marcia. You’ve been most kind.
