How do I file a complaint about a doctor - Open to All Other Health Topics Message Board

I had a realtionship with a Doctor that has since ended. I have found out that shw went through my medical records to determine if I had any disease or STDs. Additonaly she surprised ne by having one of her doctor friends prescribe Viagra for me (which I do not need) so she could use it on a trip. I was unaware until recentley that there is a required protocol for such drugs. She has hurt me terribly and I have been dealing with this for a year. She will be practising in California soon. Her personality and her comments abut certain members of society shcok me, especially coming from a medical professional. I don't want to sound like a revengful , bitter ex boyfriend but what recourse do I have. I have kept all documentation.

Any suggestion anyone?

In this situation you'd be best to leave it alone. Far too much time has passed without you having said anything -- at this point you'd be making yourself look like a fool. Besides, it sounds more like a relationship complaint than a malpractice suit.

Regardless of how much time has passed,this doc sounds highly unethical and does need to be reported.contact the AMA ,this woman sounds like she has some big mental health issues.

Don't bother. Doctors protect and cover up for other doctors, called the 'good ole boy society' which now includes female doctors too. They usually do not get so much as a slap on the hand.

If this had been a case of patient versus physician it would be different, but it sounds like this was a personal relationship between two consenting people.

The doctor had the ability to check your medical records for STD or other, but she should have refrained and requested you to be tested and present her the results. If I was in the dating game again I definitely would request proof a fellow was clear of the above before engaging in sex and I would produce the same proof to him. It is a two-way street.

Let it go. You were her boyfriend, not her patient. Any actions coming from you at this point are a result of your failed relationship with her. It would be an abuse of the system to file a complaint on her, and the act of a jilted boyfriend, not a mistreated patient. In the end, it would simply reflect poorly on you. You arent really asking how to file a complaint on a doctor, you are asking how to file a complaint on an exgirlfriend. Unethical--please let it go.
