ok so i went swimming yesterday.. and i got water in my ear. i tried to get it out by tipping my head but it wasn't working so i said, oh well it'll come out in a little bit. well i totally FORGOT about it and slept with it like that (on that ear). so today i woke up and my ear feels plugged, it hurts like a mother and it's hot. the water is like stuck in there or something. does anyone know how to help? i already tried putting rubbing alcohol in it...

Doesn't that Swimmers Ear stuff help relieve that? I've had water in my ear before, but eventually it did come out. Never experienced what you are going through. You might need to check with your doc if it's hot & hurting. That's not normal! Good luck!

The alcohol should have dried it out... so it may be infected, my daughter gets a swimmers ear infection every year in July! (3 years in a row it was July 26th!) It is cleared up quickly after she goes to the doctor, I'd go and get it looked at and get something done, why suffer. I guess sometimes the water will just get in deeper, into the middle ear and get trapped, it can fester quickly.
