does the pus smell?
the very first thing that hit my mind as soon as i read this was a brown recluse spider bite. my friend got bitten by one twice..(she of course didnt know it either time). she developed a blister, that had a black middle to it. pus came out of it...and eventually it kept getting bigger and bigger...she has a scar on her leg where it was. (she did have to go to the dr and have the poison removed, and had to pack it with gauze and stuff, as the hole was pretty big. brown recluse bites get infected from the inside out....eats away at your flesh/tissue from the inside out. she said that the pus smelled so awful that it made her puke. so, if i were you, i would have this looked into and insist that they at least think about the possibility of a brown recluse spider bite.
