What is the regular normal heart rate?

I was just wondering what the normal, idle heart rate would be, specificly for a young person. I'm 14, but in many ways have the physical body of an adult. I also smoke. I heard the normal heart rate is 60-80?

But the day before yesterday I did some meth(amphetimine) and I know it's bad and all that, so don't try to lecture me but my heart rate was at 144 the hole night (when I was 'comming down'.) and now it's around 114 sober. Both are idle rates, while sitting at my computer. But is 114 still a normal, idle heart rate for a young adult?

Re: What is the regular normal heart rate?

A resting pulse of 114 in a healthy young person your age is not normal. It's too high. And the 144 last night can be downright dangerous. Things should return to normal soon. Cigarette smoking of course, always raises the heart rate.
And stay off the meth. Your heart is telling you something. If you're having episodes like this @ 14, you ain't gonna be too healthy by 20. I kid you not. (Not a lecture...just concerned.)

60-85 beats per minute is the normal resting heart rate range. ZuZu8 says it best. You are heading for trouble.

Yeah. That's way too high. Exercise can lower your resting heart rate. And what is meth(amphetimine)?? Is it a drug?? Well drugs stimulate your pulse rate, so maybe should try to keep off.
