Need Help!!!

I am new to the board. I just registered lastnight. So sorry if I am posting something that has been posted already. I tryed to read all the threads, but I have a 5 month old baby so I didnt have much time to search. Anyway I have been bleeding for 12 days now. I had my period on time this month as I usurally do. My period lasted about 5 days which is normal for me. Then I started bleeding again 2 days after it stopped. At first the blook was really brown almost black and then it went to red or normal color. But the thing is it was exstremelly heavy. My period isnt even this heavy. I am kind of worried about it. I asked my MIL but she doesnt seem to know what would cause this to happen. I am not on any birthcontrol at all and I am not taking any kind of medication at all. I had a baby in May 2005. I need some advise. I dont want to go the doctor if it is nothing cerious. Because I dont have insurance. Thats why I am asking other women for advise. Any help would be great. Thanks for being there to talk to.

Re: Need Help!!!

Hello,
You need to be seen by a doctor right away, with any abnormal bleeding. Please do not delay.

Re: Need Help!!!

Yes -- you absolutely need to see a doctor right away. Think of it this way: even if all the other women who post here have had the same experience, they all had to be seen by a doctor to figure out why it was happening to them, and then what needed to be done to fix it. There are so many reasons, some easier or harder to cure or improve -- there's no way you can know why it's happening to you without some tests and professional advice.

Don't risk your health. It will be worth the cost -- even if it's only for your peace of mind.

Once the doctor has given you a diagnosis, then it's time to return to learning everything you can about what caused the bleeding, possible treatment options, and what can be done (if anything) to prevent it the next time.
