blisters on and around my incision line after surgery

I had surgery for ulnar nerve compression April 25. For the past three days my skin around the incision area is itchy, but I am not scratching at it.I am suppose to go back to the surgeon May 8 to have the dressing removed. Anyways my dressing is loose and slid down to my wrist today. I noticed along the incision line 2 small watery blisters and two more about 1/2 inch away from the incision. I ended up changing the dressing myself and two of the blisters popped. I put some polysporin on them for now. I have no idea if this an allergic reaction to the dissolvable stitches, steri-tape across the incision, bandage or something on the skin. I don't want to phone the surgeon unnecessarily. Any advice?

Re: blisters on and around my incision line after surgery

Believe me,this just happens sometimes post op.I don't know why,but it just does.I can almost guarentee you that this is nothing to really worry about at all.I have had this happen with three out of five surgeries.

I just had my last surgery done on my knee and had the very same thing happen again.I think when they apply the initial dressing, sometimes there is just a bit of skin that ends up being slightly pinched off in there.you just don't know it til you get that first peek at the incisiopn.I actually had three tiny ones pop in this time around.my surgery was on april 12th and they have long since gone away with no trace at all left behind.sounds like you are doing all the right things with it anyway.just let them do what they do and they will eventually just dissapate.hope all is still going well.FB

You may be allergic to latex, that is if they used latex products in the dressings.
