ok i was looking at pics of me back from 2003 and i noticed how normal in weight i was, and i even looked chubby especially in my face and neck. Then something happened even though i eat nutritious meals every day and i eat a lot..i have lost this weight over the years and i look so skinny and like a skeleton esp. in my face and neck....i also have other symptoms...im always thirsty, have fatigue, hair loss, paleness with yellow tinge to skin, itchy skin, pale lips and purplish eyelids...painful menstruation...and i cant focus anymore...anyone know what this could be?? i thought it could be a thyroid problem or autoimmune problem

Hi, I responded to your last post. It sounds like you may be diabetic. I am not sure though. Common symptoms of diabetes are frequent thirst, always being thirsty. Losing weight without trying, itchy skin, fatigue and weakness and blurry vision. I am not sure what would cause purplish eyelids and yellow spots on the tongue. I would get checked by a doctor right away. It sounds like something is wrong and these symptoms are not good to have. I can only give you advice, a doctor will know what is going on. I hope you feel better soon, please go to a doctor though.

My initial thought was thyroid problems. If it was diabetes symptoms would come and go before and after meals.

Hi lilcandigirl95, I agree it could be a thyroid problem.

I suggest having a thyroid panel done. Ask the doctor to test your Free T3, Free T4, and thyroid antibody levlels also (in addition to the T3, T4, TSH). These are not usually done but are necessary for a comprehensive view. When you get your results, you can post them on the thyroid board at this site. The people there are very helpful. Even if your results are in the normal range, they may not be optimal for you.

lilcandigirl, I initially thought thyroid disorder when i read your post, but after you said you had excessive thirst, that made me think of diabetes.. have you ever been evaluated for either, or have any family members with those illnesses?
