Over the past 4-5 years, I have had multiple UTI's and so I have had many antibiotics. Recently I was given an antibiotic for a tooth infection. This med gave me diarrhea for a week. Now I'm sore and itchy around my rectum. Also it feels like I'm swollen around my bladder. I'm wondering if there is anything to treat an infection without using an antibiotic if this last course of antibiotics is the culprit for causing these symptoms. Can anyone relate to this? Thanks

Many times antibiotics will give you a secondary infection. A yeast infection. This really sounds like your problem. The itchy feeling is a sure sign as is the bladder feeling. call your doctor he can give you a one pill that will clear it up.

Well, about a month ago I was taking antibiotics and the doctor had told me to eat a lot of Yogurt so that you don't develop a Yeast Infection and it worked. Because the second dosage of antibiotics I didn't eat Yogurt and developed a Yeast Infection. However, I did start eating Yogurt afterwards and I felt better.

Good advice about the yogurt Carolina....

Duck....Try taking lots of garlic powder as you'll kill ''2 birds with one stone'' as the saying goes...The garlic will kill any infection and also kill yeast from over usasge of antibiotics. Also oilive leaf extract is good for both. Then as Carolina says start taking yogurt or probiotics.....

Thanks for replying - I've heard about garlic helping with infections. Would "Garlique" the tablet be better than putting a lot of garlic on foods? I love garlic but don't know if I would get enough to cure - how much is enough? I will also get some yogurt. Should I worry if I see mucus in my stools after taking that antibiotic? Will these natural methods heal this particular problem? Again...thanks. Doctors seem to be "antibiotic happy" to me and I lean more towards natural means, if at all possible.
