I'm having an EKG for some chest pain (which my doctor assumes is from frequent asthma attacks, which are simply making my chest very sore), but I was wondering if women are allowed to wear a bra during the EKG? I'd just rather not be sitting there w/o anything on if at all possible... and if so, is an underwire okay, or only like a sports bra? Thanks if you can help answer my question!
I have had tons of EKGs at my cardiologist's office and I have never had to take my shirt or bra off. She just says "OK, lift your shirt up". I guess different doctors might do it differently, though.
One time I had to do a stress echo test, hooked up to an ekg machine on a treadmill at a angle of not so small hill, with no bra and going fast. Sorry too much information.
And I just though about it I don't think they took my bra off on the last one cause even I wash my bra when I put it on one of the ekg pads was in the bra
I have had 2 EKG's done in preparation for surgery. Once I had to take everything off up top and the other time just my shirt. It all depends on the person who is administering the EKG.
