congested cough
For the last several months I have had a persistant cough. It sounds as if I am congested. I do not have a cold or a stuffy or runny nose. Any help?

This is allergy season for many of us. Maybe you are suffering from allergies.

I have no known allergies. All medication I am currently on I have been on for 10 years so seems unlikely that would be the cause.

You can develop new Allergies or Asthma (congested cough with no other symptoms) at any time in your life.

You should have your doc take an xray and check out the lungs. It could be Valley Fever. I've known several people who had the same symptoms and later found out it was VF. It is treatable with meds but you don't want to let it go too long. One friend ended up in the hospital for weeks. Go on line and check out the symptoms of Valley Fever. Have you been or live in an area that has new building going on? Good luck with that cough getting better. Beebs.

How about walking pneumonia. This is usually the only symptom of walking pneumonia.
