I've been noticing over the past few months that if I cut myself, or bleed even slightly, that my blood has a very strong metallic odor. I do have a fairly sensitive sense of smell, but I'm sure that I would have noticed this before. I haven't had any changes in diet etc, I have changed careers (6 months ago).
Just wondering if anyone has heard of this, and if it is anything that I should be concerned with. An employee of mine mentioned a 'metal clensing kit'. I've never heard of such a thing, and have no idea if that would be something I should consider.
I assumed iron as well, but I've also been turned down for low iron while attempting to donate blood (not recently, I'm talking YEARS ago. Then I was low on iron, the last several times I donated, my iron was fine). At any rate, I think, since I'm over-due for my annual exam, I'll make that appointment and get things checked out. It's the least I can do!
Thank you so much for your thoughts, and if anyone has more to offer, I'd love to hear it!!
