 Can anyone tell me the definition of this??
What does "exophytic pancreatic nodule" mean??? I know "exophytic" means "sticking out"...and I know this is on the pancreas, but nodule??? I undertand that nodule means a solid small object less than 2 cm in size.
What I am wondering, is that I have an accessory spleen that was once thought a 1 cm mass on my left kidney. Post contrast CT revealed a 1 cm accessory spleen, not a mass on my kidney as once thought, but the CT scan also said "A differential diagnosis would include a exophytic pancreatic nodule" a 6 month CT followup is recommended for security.
I asked the nurse at the Dr's office if they thought that if it was a "nodule" did they thing it was a cancerous tumor?? She said if they thought that it was for one second they would not have me coming in at 6 months, they would have done something right away.
Anyone explain this??
