I don't know if this is the right place to post this? I have severe night sweats several times a week. I wake up with wet hair, wet clothes and wet bedsheets. The sweating always seems to start on my chest and then move outward as it gets worse. I have had night sweats now for 10 years since about age 18. Right about the same time that I started getting night sweats I also starting getting hives or at least what I think is hives. This also starts on my chest and then moves outward to my face, neck, abdomin. They are large red patches which are hot to the touch. They last for up to an hour. Could these two be related? I know that stress agrevates both conditions but it does not take much stress as I get hives at least everyday and night sweats almost every night. Is this possibly a hormonal imbalance? Is there any way to check? Does anyone else have this strange combination?

For goodness sake get yourself to the doctor!

Definitely see a doctor and have your hormones checked. Another thing that can cause night sweats is Babesiosis which is an infection similar to malaria and transmitted by a tick. Do you have any other symptoms?

I did see a doctor a couple days ago and he took blood and did a chest xray but said that most likely there is nothing wrong with me and I will have to live with my symptoms. He acted as if it was no big deal. Will the doctor be able to check my hormones from my bloodwork or should I specify a test to run?

If you are having other problems or you truly feel like there is something wrong go see other doctors. I had to see 12 different ones they all told me that there wasn't anything wrong, but there is and the last doctor found it the other 11 don't even know what i have

and when i go into a ER and tell them what i have they give me that look like what? and then they go on the internet and look up what i have and come back and as me stupid questions.

p.s you should keep track of what tests you had and keep records of them.
