Is there any way to tell if it's the stomach flu vs. food poisoning?
Both elderly parents down with N/V/D for 24hrs. Some of their friends also sick, all attended a church function Friday night...
Please help!!

Since more than your parents are sick, most likely it is food poisoning.

Yes she is right, but there would be a small chance it is a flu.

Usually a fever and body aches go with the stomach flu, not with food poisoning . The stomach flu has been rampant in my area ( I had it too) . It usually lasts anywhere from 3-5 days with lots of V/D, so it's important to hydrate!

Hello,

Stomach flu doesn't normally pass on from one person to another in groups so quickly - sure sounds like food poisoning to me. Just had myself. No actual being sick, retching all of the time, very upset tummy, fever, talking gobbledygook - you name it I did it. Mine lasted 2 1/2 weeks - mind you I have got other medical problems so this is what took it so long to get out of my system.

I do hope your parents get well really soon.
