When i was approx 13 i found a lump under my right nipple. It gradually grew and eventually turned painful. I was never told accuratly what it was, or why it had arrived there, just that it was tissue. After a while i asked to have it removed via surgery. By the time i was 20 i finally had it removed. They said they couldnt guarantee the pain would go away as it was all to do with the nerv endings, and i would have to expect some indentation of the nipple where the lump had been taken away. Sure enough the surgery removed the nipple and with it all the pain. The scar was barely visible and i was very pleased with it. I had no feeling at all around most of the nipple, even when touched i could feel nothing. Small price to pay i thought.
Anyway, graduallly the lump has come back, as has the pain. Its been 6 years since i had it is nore slightly larger and more painful than it was before. I also now have a strange feeling where i can feel the lump is there, at all times. Its like a slight numbing pain around the nipple. When my arm is down the lump is probably the size of a 1p but quite raised. When i raise my arm the lump is more like 3cm long. I have been to the doctors regarding this over the years and i just get hit with the same comments. Is there any discharge? No. Well its not really noticable, and really anyone who has had surgery before shouldnt need it again. Well the lump is noticable and for god sake its painful. What i really want to know is what should i do? Should i get a second opinion about it? if i had it cut out once before surely it shouldnt be back again? If i dont have it removed is it gonna get bigger? To what size? More to the point why is it there? Can it be prevented or something, and are there any natural ways i can get it to dissolve etc? I just feel so frustrated with it all and i fail to accept that i just have to live with it and see what happens, i want to do something. if i have it cut out i need to know why it came back, so that it wont again, i cant keep having it removed every 6 years can i?
Can anyone please offer me some advice?
