| Hi, I was hoping that someone on here could help me.
My husband is a coal miner and he participated in a occupational safety and health examine that tests for black lung. They found that he does not have black lung which I'm so thankful for but there findings included..
....disease in your lungs has caused the other organs in your chest, such as your heart, to shift from their normal position ( medical term: distortion of intrathoracic organs. )
... there is thickening of the outside lining around the tops of your lungs. This is often caused by an old healed infection or fluid collection, but it can be a result of dust exposures. ( medical term: apical pleural thickening),
...there is an abnormality of your back bone (spine), such as arthritis, a healed fracture, or curvature (medical term: abnormality of the vertebral column, kyphosis, or scoliosis).
Is anyone familiar with any of these things and maybe could explain them to me. I've been so worried. We know he has arthritis in his back. The disease in the lungs is what concerns me the most. I sent after his x-rays and he's going to the doctor as soon as we get them for a follow up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
