How Long do you have to take testosterone injections?

I am doing research on low testosterone levels. My Dr. gave me a Blood test and mine came back low. I wanted to find out my options.

Thanks for your help

Re: How Long do you have to take testosterone injections?

I believe once you start treatment , it is for life. Only 2 natural herbs may help increase your levels naturally but alot of Doctors do not believe these do anything--or say not to go this route. (Herbs are Tongkat Ali or Long Jack, and Tribulus Terrestris) My husband has Low normal levels -he is 45, his levels in past month have been 344, 336, 503 and 323 , and all low normal Test Free levels also. Encron will not put him on Test Treatment therapy unless levels went lower than 250 . Although said his levels should be around 500-600 for his age, approx. But all men are different. Is your levels lower than 250? Why did you get checked--did you have symptoms---low energy, low sex drive, fatigied, feel like an old man for your age?

Low to no sex drive, no energy, de[ressed. I went to my doctor and that one of the blood test that they took. Wants me to see a specialist so that is next step. I am only 38. Do perscriptions cause this to happen?

Re: How Long do you have to take testosterone injections?

I know some perscriptions can make testosteroe lower, like metiforin? for Diabetes I believe. Depresson drugs can definetly lower sex drive. My husband is not on any persciption drugs, sometimes this just happens, they call it Andropause , books have been written about it. My husband , I believe , has always been a lower testosteone man, still has hair on his head, hardly any on his chest, never been aggressive, always seemed to need alot of sleep compared to me, plus he is not depressed , even with these lower levels. Sex drive is not as high as mine, but he is good to go every 2 or 3 days. I have read if you are normally a High testosterone man (examples levels in 900 range dropping to maybe 500 range), if your levels drop quickly & suddenly , this is MORE of a problem than a Lower testosterone man (500 range dropping to 350) for example. THe lower level man will have less symptoms than the Higher testosterne man -even though his levels are higher! This creates a problem though when every Doctor goes by LEVELS alone and not symptoms, so make sure you see a Doc who takes your symptoms in more consideration than just your numbers. --Sometimes hard to find --sometimes Encronologists are the worst to see. I know ours did not care about symptoms, it was all about numbers--had to be less than 250. (At this point, I dont think my husband really needs this particular treatment though).
