Question regarding Morphine...

It's kind of hard for me to post this but I need to have a couple questions answered. Recently in an effort to kill herself, my ex-girlfriend attempted to over-dose on Morphine. Now this is all hypothetical because I was not there to see her take them. She supposedly took 1/3 of a bottle in one night. She opened up to me and told me that she had sexual intercourse with two men within a span of about 12 hours. Now my question is : Can someone under the effects of a serious dose of Morphine be vulnerable to sexual intercourse? Or was she basically bsing me the whole time and using that as an excuse? If it does make you vulnerable, are you aware of what is going on the entire time? This question has been eating away at my mind for quite some hours and I want to know if anyone has extensive knowledge concerning my question. Thanks
-Steve

Re: Question regarding Morphine...

I can't speak for anyone else, but I had morphine after a surgery and I had absolutely no idea what was going on. I was in and out of sleep and I wasn't able to articulate anything at all, let alone walk. Of course after surgery you get a very high dose in IV form. I have no idea how much she took or what the results would have been. A small amount would just relax you. How in the world did she get her hands on morphine?

Re: Question regarding Morphine...

there are just sooo many different factors that you would have to know or would have to actually be present in order to really totally be even able to answer this question. like was the morphine actually HER morphine meaning she was more tolerant to the effects of it just being ON it at all? what was the actual dose amount on that bottle? if she does have an rx for this, just how long had she been on it and what is her 'normal' does. is this a long acting form that would be called kadian, avinza or plain old MS contin or a a few other long acting names that you can look up or the short acting form which would release immediately like MSIR? can ya kind of see the different 'factors' involved in just trying to actually truely even answer that type of a question?

if she was opiate naive, meaning she did NOT have this rxed for her but took someone elses or she normally does not take any real narcotics at all, if she took that much of even the 15 mg immediate release, she more than likely would have ceased her breathing since all narcotics just have a very direct affect upon the respiratory drive. and if she did not normally take this stuff, there would be even more of a direct impact.

knowing more info about this would help, otherwise i think you just need to kind of open your eyes here and really think about this relationship, seriously. did she say she was actually raped by these two men or "i just had sex with them" type of thing? there just really IS a HUGE difference there with one giving consent and the other being forced or taken advantage of ya know what i mean? if she actually had sex with two different guys during a 12 hour span, she obviously was with it enough to actually go out and find these guys kind of thing and not impaired to the point where she was too drugged up to even get out of bed type thing? and, do you know whether or not an actual condom was even used here? that alone could turn out to be a MAJOR issue for you.

i would really sit down and evaluate your releationship right now as a whole. has she ever done this type of going out on you before? does she seem to actually love you? some things you just kind of already know in your heart and others you kind of wonder about but tend to kind of 'deny' they exist sometimes? this is what the whole eval of your current relationship is really about ya know? i personally, even if i was just really drunk or something 'still" could not cross certain lines when it came to betraying my husband or who was boyfriend way back when i actually used to drink, you know what i mean? there just IS kind of a 'line' in the back of your mind that wont allow you to do this or other types of behaviors just becasue its there keeping you on track? the fact that one of these enocounters she had was twelve hours after the first one when most of the drug she took would have been metabolized(even if this was the long acting form too) and pretty much run thru would really seriously make me wonder, ya know(knowing right from wrong by that time?).that MS just would NOT have been anywhere near as strong as when right after you take it kind of thing? thats what i am getting at here that makes the evaluating more crucial.

i am sorry this happened to you at all but maybe it is best you found this type of behavior out now vs later when you just have more invested into any(what YOU may think) real solid relationship with plans to actually move forward with her? i do hope you two had not been dating too long when this occured. i personally just have some big doubts here about a few things in her story. but like i said, alot of different factors need to also be known too. i do think you just do deserve someone who will NOT go this route on you. no one deserves that. please let me know how you are doing. and good luck steve.

sorry, did NOT actually read that this was an 'ex' girlfriend til i reread this post today, sorry, FB
