An odd discovery...

Dear ...

Hello, I am jozaow456 and I'm 18 years old. I'm doing my A-levels right now etc. etc.

But that isn't what i wish to tell you about...

Ever since I can remember I was slightly short-sighted but in the last week my eyesights become pretty much normal; so I can see clearly, whether I'm looking at distant or close things and don't have to wear glasses. (and I must admit I am happy as can be; literally!! so happy in fact that I'm writing this now in the hope that someone else might also become as happy as me!!)

And now I'm going to try and explain why I think this odd thing has happened... See I reasoned that because I spent a lot of time reading and writing, and playing the playstation I was focusing on things that were very close; in fact I probably spent on average in the last load of years more time focusing on close things than long things (even for example a short sighted person tends to look at what they can see: such as walking down the street looking at the ground in front of them...)

So. I thought that i should try focusing on distant objects in the hope that I could balance out my eyes... Now then, I was clinging to the smallest thread of hope that this would work. I mean, its SO obvious how could no-one think of it before!?!?!?!?!?! But now it makes perfect sense... see, if you ask a short sighted person to look off into the distance they find it very difficult!! they'll end up 'straining' there eyes (they'll probably say "Ow, this is straining my eyes"!! and they'll look away!) it happened me.

I went down to the field near my house, and i sat there 'straining' my eyes staring at distant things, blinking like a madman for about an hour. (let me explain- my eyes were watering: very important! but i tried to hold my gaze for about 8 seconds at a time, then take one long blink, closing my eyes really hard.). You see, my eyes 'watering', they must have been trying to moisten themsleves up.

Let me explain- it is widely accepted that people with good eyesight blink less- obviously then people with poor eyesight tend to blink more (and I can confirm that I blinked quite a lott when short sighted!). You see, also spending time on the playstation dries your eyes up, yes? So i overcompensated by blinking a lot. Then when I went outside- to school etc. I blinked more because my eyes were dry, this i believe dried my eyes up... (you still following me?). I mean, it makes sense does it not, that sitting indoors and watching tv/computer etc. dries eyes up... So anyway, to combat dry eyes, I believe you need to regulate your blinking indoors and outdoors. and also focus on long range things to help regulate the moisture...

Like I said, I "tried to explain". But please!! please do try this, I swear it it works!!! at least for me it did... and it really did!

So, to summarise, to regualte the moisture levels in your eyes you need to regulate your blinking (only blink when you NEED to). And focus your eyes on both distant and close range objects... !!!

errr... I wish I could prove it.... lets see, usually when I'm walking my dog at night I can only REALLY see my hand. But about 5.30 pm past,, (very dark twas...) I was walking him and I promise I could read a 40mph speed limit sign from about 50m away. And see a white van's license plate (bear in mind his headlights were on and everything!) from about 25/30m away!!

And, if I didn't REALLY mean this why would I spend so long writing this LONG message to ya?? I want you scientific people to test this and spread the word. Seriously...

And also my eyes even look healthier now, they're all translucent and glassy instead of misty looking!
