Pain in vein after blood draw
Six days ago I had my blood drawn for a series of labs. The nurse put the needle in my arm and when she put the first vacuum tube onto the needle it pulled so hard that I felt a pain shooting all the way down my arm from my inner elbow to the tip of my index finger. It felt like a hot razor slicing my arm open. The nurse continued to fill the vials with blood, six in all, but had a lot of trouble filling the last three. She had to keep wriggling the needle around and pressing on the area surrounding the needle. My arm was fine until today, six days after the blood draw. I hit the back of my hand angainst the counter top, very lightly, but now my hand feels numb and tingling and burning in the same area I felt the pain when my blood was drawn. Again, the blood was drawn from my inner elbow and now I am having pain in the wrist area of my hand.
