What is Glycosylated Serum Protein?

This was shown as high 285 on my blood work. What does it mean? I also had sugar in my urine. My doctor said she never heard of this test and doesn't know what it is. Stumped. She told me to eat less fruit and more protein. I never had a doctor tell me to eat less fruit, that doesn't sound right.
