Fever and chills w/ no other symptoms

Hello,

My gf has had a fever of 100-101 for the past 3 days with cold chills. There are no other symptoms and we have looked up everything we could, but no such luck. Motrin doesn't help and she doesn't have insurance. What can we do?

J

Very possibly something viral so going to doc wouldn't be much help. Try to keep her hydrated and get plenty of rest. I had it one time and it lasted 5 days!

Re: Fever and chills w/ no other symptoms

Sometimes Motrin doesn't help with fevers. Try either aspirin or tylenol instead. For me, tylenol doesn't do a lot for pain but it always takes down a fever. And aspirin has been around forever, it's a pretty good standby for stuff like headaches and fever.

Re: Fever and chills w/ no other symptoms

Thank you. The tylenol does help. It made her sweat for a while. The fever went away for a little while, but came back. I'm sure the more she sweats it out, the faster the symptoms should start fading.

Thanks again.

Re: Fever and chills w/ no other symptoms

If the chills and fever don't go away soon I would have her checked as fever and chills are also a sign of a infection going on.
