Novocaine clears sinuses

I've seen a number of threads concerning novocaine and sinuses, but mine and my granddaughters are the complete opposite. Whenever I get a novocaine shot in the top of my mouth, my sinuses clear up and I can
breathe through both nostrils - one is alway closed (since a kid, and I stopped worrying about it). My granddaughter (20years old) had her first cavity done today and she also has sinus problems. As soon as she got the shot, she could breathe, even went to the gym aftewards and was excited that she could breathe for hours afterward.
Anyone else have this?
