Pain in right side under ribcage..

I have been feeling tired alot and I have this dull achey pain under my right ribcage and around my back. I have had my gallbladder removed and has a total hysterectomy so nothing to do with that. I had a colonoscopy in April so I don't have any colon issues but I do have stomach bloating and was directed to take beano daily to help with the digestion since I had my gallbladder removed. Sometimes I really have to go to the bathroom in a big hurry and sometimes I have diarrea but never any constipation.
Anyone got any advice? I haven't been to the Dr. yet..should I see a gastro doctor for this or just go to my regular MD?

Re: Pain in right side under ribcage..

Hi...I think you should be referred to a gastro specialist who will hopefully check out any other possibilities of what might be going on.
In the meantime, your doc should do liver panel and kidney blood tests, as well as stool samples.

Maybe as well push for an ultrasound of that area...just wondering if you might have some adhesions from the surgeries you've had.

Curious what your diet is like on a daily basis? Sometimes tweaking that can help with digestive discomfort.

What other meds are you on? are you on hormone replacement therapy?

What supplements are you taking?

Re: Pain in right side under ribcage..

I have been on Premarin since 96. Dr. doesn't want to take me off of it. I take Diovan for my BP and an anti inflammatory for a L5 Disc issue. No supplements at all. Since my gallbladder surgery I eat anything I want..sometimes I have to go immediately after eating and sometimes I am okay..nothing in particular that bothers me to eat.

Re: Pain in right side under ribcage..

Could be IBS. Did they test you for H-pylori during your colonoscopy? Either of those issues can cause bloating and/or diarreah. Gastro troubles are miserable
