Three throat infections since July
In about mid July, I had a bad flu with a throat infection. I went to the doctor and he told me it was a virus. It got worse overnight so I went back to see a different doctor the next day and she gave me antibiotics. I took the whole course but it took a couple of weeks to feel better. Then towards the end of August I went to the doctor with sore ears and an itchy throat. She told me I had fluid behind my ear drums and a viral throat infection and that antibiotics wouldn't help. It took about 3 weeks for this infection to clear up completely.
Then on Wednesday, I started getting a sore throat. By Thursday it was worse so I went to the doctor and again, he told me it was viral and antibiotics wouldn't help. It got much worse overnight (I could hardly swallow) so I went back to a different doctor the next day and she told me I needed antibiotics.
Should I be worried about having 3 throat infections in 4 months? Do I need to see an ENT specialist?
