| need help with mri results
I have been suffering with pain in my neck for about 18 months and 4 weeks ago the pain started in my arm with tingling in my arm and face(all on the right side). My doctor recommended an mri which i had on friday but i dont understand the results. My doctor just said i have bulging discs and he will send off a letter for an appointment with a neurosurgeon. So i am hoping somebody might be able to explain a bit better than my doctor did.
Here is the report:
There is straightening of the spine.
There is reduced signal in the cervical discs due to desiccation, with very slight loss of height in the c5-c6 disc.
there is posterior annular bulging at the c4-c5,c5-6,c6-7 levels.
The transverse scans show a little annular bulging encroaching on the right exit foramen at c3-4.
There is mild generalised annular bulging posteriorly at c4-5,but te exit foramina are patent.
There is central annular bulging at c5-6. This does not affect the exit foramina.
The exit foramina are patent at c6-7.
No large focal disc protrusions are identified.
The cervical spinal cord is normal.
Thank you for reading.
