My grandpa has a cold and his doctor said with his current medication he cannot have dextromethorphan, I can't seem to find any caugh medicines that do not contain DXM.. Does anyone have any ideas? His cold has been ongoing for about a month now and I want to find him a medicine.. I told him to boil hot water and add some sugar to help sooth his throat in the meantime and boil hot water and leave it on medium to get some humidity in his house to help breath better for the mean time.. Thanks.
Re: Is there cough medicine without dextromethorphan
Have you tried ones that are basically guaifenesin? Robistussin makes one and Mucinex is one. They make the cough more productive. Or maybe ask the doctor for a prescsription one?
