This is my first post..!!! this all started about 4 1/2 months ago when i started on blood pressure medication, it started with the dry cough, all most immediately like the next day after my first pill i started coughing.... then i changed my blood pressure medication but i still was coughing with the new BP med, I talked to the doctor about this and she recommened me to go ahead and stop the medication, I did about 3 weeks ago, but now I'm not really coughing now but i got that little tickle in the back of my throat that wont go away so I'm constantly clearing my throat now... the OTC stuff i'm buying does help with that, but it does not last very long, i guess I'm worried that maybe this BP meds i tried might have damaged my lungs... can this happen...??? also after 4 1/2 months of coughing my abdominal area is still sore, mainly in my left oblique area...
I think you need to consult a specialist doctor immediately, and have a complete medical check up. Othe wise it could lead to some serious health problem for you. I am not really sure about but the symptoms you have higjlighted might be SOme type of Hepatitus.
The cough from some bp meds can linger for a long time. And you might have a sinus issue or reflux or any number of things. A check up might be in order.
Thanks for the reply's guys... I don't think its hepatitis..?? i don't have any symptoms of hepatitis... i did talk to my doctor and she seems to think it allergies, I'm not too sure about that either, I've never had allergies, Like i said in my orig post it all started when I started on BP medication, My doctor advised the medication i was using should not have caused a cough, I was taking HCTZ which is correct its not suppose to make me cough but it did, I was on that for 2 months,then switched to Norvasc which did make my cough taper down but i still had that "tickle" in the back of my throat that i can't quite get too, and now I've been off Norvasc for about 2 months, and still I got the tickle and having to clear my throat... not sure ???? Gerd/sinus/post nasal drip... I guess I'll keep bugging my Doc, I'm do for a physical and I'll have them test for everything...!!!!!
Well to follow up on this, I did go into to see my doctor and on his advise he seems to think my coughing then clearing my throat could be a case of acid reflux... so he started me on Prilosec and I've been on that for 1 week.... it seems to be working, I rarely have to clear my throat, sometimes if I eat something that does not agree with me I'll get this wierd sensation with my throat where is difficult to swallow like last night when I had mashed potatoes, why is mashed potatoes on the hit list I don't know, but then it goes away if i sip some water... I guess I'll have to be carefull for awhile on what I eat..... My stomach feels a little wierd but maybe thats because of the prilosec... we'll see, but no crazy side effects of the prilosec so far...
