Are there any hand soaps that kill both viruses and bacteria?

You know, I have looked at hand soaps before and I see plenty of antibacterial hand soaps for the home but I have never found one for the home that claims to kill both bacteria and viruses. As far as I am aware, viruses do get transmitted via the hands and this happens quite often. Therefore, why don't they make hand soaps for home use that kill both bacteria and viruses. I have seen that in hospitals they have soap called "antimicrobial" hand soap. I am assuming that this kind is better than what you can get for the home and that it does kill bacteria and viruses. I have no idea though. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

The purpose of hand soap is to remove the viruses and bacteria. Removal is all that is required. The antibacterials added to hand soap are polluting our waters and contributing to antibiotic resistance among bacteria.

It's not better...regular soap and water is all that's required. Just not bar soap...which can sit in water and breed its own bugaboos from sharing.

Thanks everyone. So simply washing them off of our hands is good enough, right? If that's the case, do regular hand soaps (liquid soaps) wash all of the microbes off of our bodies well enough?

You don't want them all washed off That's why we have so many antibiotic resistant bacteria today. We are too obsessed with getting rid of all germs. Some are good ones. Soap and water is adequate if you wahs properly (not just rinse off).

Research shows that twenty seconds of washing with soap, followed by rinsing from the wrist to the fingers, is enough.

Hi

In my opinion hand soap contain antibiotic materials. They helps to kill the bacteria. When the soap will mix with the water then that water will react to the viruses and bacteria.

Thanks.
