pubic bone crack

a few days ago i fell on a broken step and hit my side on the right i have been in pain all down right side from pelvis down to groin. I went to the doctors today and was told i have cracked my pubic bone but that theres nothing they can do as its like ribs it just has to heal how long will that take and if the pain does not subside whats the long term damage?

It's probably going to take 2 to 3 months to heal. Make sure your pain medication is adequate enough so you can handle the pain and rest, but don't be immobile. Weight bearing will actually help the fracture to heal, don't do any impact exercises just walking.

I don't know of any long term damage.
