Hey everyone, I have a quick question. About three weeks ago I started getting this cramp in my left knee. More towards the outer side of the knee. The pain is severe and mimics that of a Charley Horse.
Anyway, normally I wouldn't find this strange as cramps aren't THAT uncommon. The thing thats kind of freaking me out is that I get the cramp at the EXACT same time every night in the EXACT same location. While the pain doesn't last more than ten minutes, I find it rather strange that it occurs in the same sport at the same time - and for this long a period.
I'm 19 years old and female. Decent health, no diseases or outstanding medical issues.
If it feels like a charley horse, it might be some kind of muscle cramp. A person can get muscle cramps over and over in the same spot, in fact it's pretty common. Perhaps lying down for bed is what triggers it.
Next time, try stretching your legs gently but thoroughly before bed. Getting more potassium might help, too. Try eating a banana.
