Severe Back Pain
My Mother age 49 is facing severe back pain from last 4-5 years and recently we consult with Doctor and he suggested for back surgery after going thru MRI report.
Below is the MRI report details. Would be really thankful if some one advice
Lumbarization of S1 vertebra.
Mildy exaggerated normal lumber lordosis with generalized mild marginal osteophytosis predominately at L5 and S1 level.
Reduces intervertebral disc T2 signal intensity mainly as L5-S1 level suggestive of disc degeneration.
Modic type II and plate changes at the inferior endpoint of l5 vertebra.
Diffuse disc bulge at l4-l5 level causing bilateral mild lateral recess stenosis and early neural foraminal enroachment.
Grade 1 anterolisthesis of l5 over s1 with broad based posterior disc protrusion causing central canal stenosis and bilateral (left>right) severe neural foraminal narriwing. Associated focal thickening of the ligamentum flavum and facet joint arthropathy contributing to the central canal and foramintal stenosis.
Effusion seen in the bilateral facet joints at L5-S1 level.
Conus medullaris is normal in position and signal intensity pattern.
Bilateral sacroilliac joint show normal hyperinense signal, suggestive mantained joined spaces.
DISC L1-L2 L2-L3 L3-L4 L4-L5 L5-S1

Please suggest. THanks in advance!!
