Swollen foot

I had an accident on 26th June, and made an xray. The doctors said that there is no fracture found. However, my feet still get swollenfor more than two weeks. Is there something else other than fracture?

Re: Swollen foot

There could be some other injury there. It's even possible the x-ray missed a fracture. Get your foot examined by an orthopedic doctor. Until then, keep it elevated as much as possible, minimize the time you spend walking and standing, and ice it at least a couple times a day.

Re: Swollen foot

jane,

thanks for the reply.

I ve been examined by the orthopedic doctor. he tried to check the bone gently and I did not have any pain. I remembered the pain is under the foot surface If I try to walk.

Re: Swollen foot

So the sole of your foot hurts when you walk, but the orthopedist didn't find a problem.

Huh. I'm not sure exactly what's going on. Still, if it doesn't seem to be improving, call that doctor back and let him know that it's still painful and swollen. The doctor may do further tests in that case.

Re: Swollen foot

It varies enormously depending on how serious the injury is. Still, if a few weeks go by with no healing, definitely go back to the doctor.
