Re: How do i prove xrays of wrist wrong

Since I had my second opinion, I've had my cast removed and the 2nd doctor still can't believe that I didn't have surgery. My hand is like a balloon, can't move my wrist upward at all, can't move my fingers because they are so swollen and painful, developed osteopenia in my hand from being in a cast for 6 weeks. My hand turns a blotchy purple color still feels warm and cold. Confused, really wish I had surgery.is it too late for surgery? I feel like my hand is crippled now.Thank you

What did the second doctor say about all of your symptoms other than you should have had surgery. Did he/she make any treatment recommendations at all?

Were either of your doctors orthopedic specialists in hands/wrists? If not, I'd seek a consultation from one that has that kind of training. That is what I had to do.

Re: How do i prove xrays of wrist wrong

My 2nd dr specializes in hands. All he really said was intense therapy.which i have been going 3 times aweek. For 3 weeks now. It kills me,very painful.although he did show me an xray from someone that had a plate and screws.i just feel as though it is going to be a very long road.i cant even pick up a washcloth. My fingers dont bend.
Thank you

Re: How do i prove xrays of wrist wrong

What kind of therapist are you seeing? My most recent one was a Certified Hand Therapist. I found his approach to be very different in treating my hand/wrist issues.

I was told by a couple therapists not to work through the pain for wrist issues because it perpetuates the inflammation.

Are you getting ultrasound and iontophoresis? They can help with inflammation.

I know that many people in the hand clinics I've gone to have had long slow roads. They did make progress over time though.
