I was horse riding today and my horse slipped. My head went back then forward at quite a force, and cracked very loudly a number of times.
My neck is a little sore, and a little sore in between my shoulders. (Not sure if this is just muscle pain from riding in general) My neck has cracked again a number of times since. (Think I may be a little anxious now too....)
I think I may have got whiplash? Are there any serious symptoms I should look out for meaning I need to see a doc?
I am not a medical person but I have whiplash which left me paralyzed. You will probably be sore in the neck area for a few days. If it would make you feel better, then maybe a visit to your doctor would be in order. Not knowing, for me, is much worse than the cure.
It could be a slight injury to the muscles in your neck and shoulders. If the pain doesn't get better after a week or so, or if it gets worse, or if pain shoots down your arms, get it checked out. Otherwise, just take it easy for a few days. Gently stretch the neck if you can do so without any pain. Ice and heat may help.
Thanks guys I will just keep an eye on it over the next week.
Woke up today with a sore back, but that may just be general sore muscles after riding. I do have a random sore throat, but I guess that may also just be sore after the potential whiplash/sore neck....
