Modified Brostrom Procedure
I'm completely new to this website, and would like to meet others who have gone through the same procedure that I'm about to go through. I am scheduled for a Modified Brostrom Procedure on Friday, November 9. This is my very first surgery I have ever had to go through!
I think I am more excited than anything else! After 5 years of my ankle giving out each time I run or for each time I sit on it funny, I am finally getting it fixed! I guess my biggest questions for those of you who have had this procedure done is:
1.) What should I expect at the Pre-op and post-op?
2.) How sore we're you feeling after you woke up?
3.) How soon did you go back to school or work?
4.) How long we're you in a cast/boot?
5.) How long did it take to get the temp handicap sticker... And how long is it
My doctor originally said that I would be in a cast for 6 weeks and then in a boot for an additional 6, but at today's appointment, he said that I would be in a cast for 3-4 weeks, and a boot for another 4... I think I would prefer the longer time in the cast and boot rather than shorter time... Any input?
