Walking with limp

I had surgery on June 15 for a broken ankle and both bones in my leg. Bones in my foot were dislocated also. Question--I am walking on my own weight without a cane but still limp. Is there anything I can do to help eliminate limp and walk normally?

Re: Walking with limp

I don't know how much help I am going to be because I am not as far out from surgery as you are, but I am 11 weeks out from a tib/fib fracture, crushed patella, and dislocated big toe. I had a rod with screws placed in my leg to stabilize the tib/fib fracture and my toe was relocated, and I can walk on my own with just a knee brace now. I still walk with a limp but attend intense physical therapy 3 days a weeks for hours. My physical therapist tells to me that to avoid the limp as best possible try pushing from heel through to your toe causing a bend in your foot. This takes some of the stress off of your leg.
