Re: Sprained ankle
Can't help you in regards to the boot as I have never had one. However, I had initial x-ray and ultrasound when I sprained my ankle in June - not much showed up. Then physio and when that didn't resolve it after 6 weeks, had MRI and another ultrasound. New ultrasound showed up swelling (tenosynovitis) and MRI shows up everything that an x-ray can't in regards to soft tissue etc. Mine showed a lot of things that not even the person who wrote the report picked up on, but once I was referred to a Foot/ankle Orthopaedic Surgeon, he knew exactly what he was looking for - plus he got me to get a weight bearing x-ray on the ankle as this shows up more than a non-weight bearing x-ray. Definitely get the MRI done if you can. I got mine done 3 mths after the initial sprain.
