Bruised Ankle bone (Medial Malleolus)

Diagnosed today with a bad bruise to the bone marrow of the medial malleolus with fluid around the posterior tibialis tendon that I had repaired in 2010(they took damaged area off of the tendon then) and chronic partial tear of the poserior tibialis tendon. Also arthritis in the midfoot. My orthopedic doctor gave me a cortisone shot by the tendon (which I was not really too excited about) and an aircast and back to work. I am on my feet for 12 hour shifts. Wondering if this treatment is advisable or if I should be getting a second opinion? I can hardly put weight on it and it has gotten significantly worse in the last week when I am working on it.
