Bone growth on Calcaneus

Hi everyone.
I just got back from an orthopedist and was told after reviewing an x-ray that I have a very odd bone growth on my right calcaneus. Its located on the outside of the heel in an area where there isn't much rubbing where irritation would occur. He didn't really offer me much information as to what it is or what I should be doing for its treatment. Anyone ever have anything like this? What should I be doing for its treatment. I have an MRI scheduled next week. I am a healthy late 20's guy who exercises weekly.
Thanks for the help. I have x-ray copy if interested.
