Knee Pain - Second Opinion?
I have had knee pain for 36 hours. I don't remember a specific injury, however it began when I was squatting while lifting heavy objects. I have sharp pain when standing up, sitting down, or going up/down stairs. There is a dull pain pretty much all the time and the knee feels weak and loose when I walk. I can also hear a snapping noise when bending the knee. I have never had any pain in this knee prior to 36 hours ago. The pain is waking me up in the middle of the night.
I saw an orthopedic surgeon yesterday who seemed to treat it as a chronic issue. He took an x-ray which looked okay. He gave me some leg exercises to complete and wants to see me in 2 weeks.
I am concerned that this is not a chronic condition and may be an acute injury. Should I get a second opinion before my next appointment in 2 weeks?
