Foot surgery post op pain medications
 

On Tuesday, I'm going to be having a big foot surgery, and I'm going to be admitted to the hospital, my dr prescribed hydrocodone 10-325 qty 40, this is suppose to last me 5 days..he's breaking some of my foot, i just hope he gives me more, and hopefully something stronger, do you think I'll get more?

Since it is a controlled substance, md's can only prescribe a certain amount. I went through 32 of my 40 in the first 3 days and got a new prescription on day 4. Thankfully the first 3 days are the worst and I haven't needed anything since, Tylenol is working well for me. Keep your foot up as much as you possibly can, decreased swelling means decreased pain. They gave me 60 for my foot surgery 2 years ago. I have 28 left. So, I think you'll be fine...and you can always ask for a second one.
