Many broken bones

I was involved in a motorcycle accident 9/09/11. The list of injuries is numerous:

compound fracture of rt ankle
2 fractured vertebrae (L1 and L5)
broken pelvis
5 broken ribs
collapsed lung
fractured sternum
ruptured bladder
broken lt arm
dislocated lt elbow and shoulder
brachael plexus injury

Doctors said I was lucky to live. So, now it is 1 1/2 years later and have no use of my left hand. I can move my arm and wrist completely but not my fingers. I have no feeling in half my arm, hand and fingers. I have had numerous EMGs which indicate there are no nerve tears. Dr. is now talking about a tendon transfer to acheive movement in my hand.

Has anyone had a tendon transfer and how were the results? I am just so over surgery after having 9 in the last 1 1/2 years.
