Dexa Report - Ward's Triange - Osteoporosis Message Board

This most recent DEXA Scan was done on a different machine than before. There is a category for Ward's Triange and the results are -3.2 which I know is bad but I don't understand where the measurement was taken, and why it's so much worse of a T score than my lumbar at -2.6 and left hip -1.8. Can any one explain this to me? I'm not seeing my doctor until Friday and I'm worrying about this score. Thanks

Have you tried a ****** search on Ward's Triangle? My DEXA done at Mayo Clinic also mentioned the Ward's Triangle and I too wondered what it was and did such a search. I just don't remember the answers now. But you can find the answer thru a ****** search as I did.

According to the medical dictionary, Wards Triangle is an area of diminished density in the trabecular pattern of the neck of the femur evident by xray as well as direct inspection....trabecula is a transverse partition which divides or partly dvides a cavity. I'm assuming this means a cross section of the neck of the femur, like if you cut a slice across the bone and can see how thick the bone is. Let us know what the Dr. says it is.
