I am now officially a member of "the club". Gave my very own first injection of Forteo, and in the belly too! (I was glad it was the 3/16" long needle instead of the 5/16"!). The closer that needle got to my belly the queasier and shakier I felt and the longer it looked! But it went off w/o a hitch. Piece of cake. The nurse and I chatted for 20 minutes and then out the door and home I came! AND, so far, despite the warfarin, NO BRUISING. But then I haven't bruised from giving myself my B12 injections once a week either despite being on the warfarin. I'm so proud of me!!!

Good for you.

Most of us men are not so easy with needles.
Unlike, women, men are usually babies when it comes to needles. In fact, I am told over 1/3 of men going in for blood work, almost faint, or do faint.
Lucky for me, needles don't bother me at all, and I have the worlds best threshold of pain, without complaining.
( if you can believe that coming from a man).

Thanks, everyone. And BoneMan - believe me, I have never been brave about needles! Goes back to when they were doing all that mass innoculating of school kids years ago: late 1940's - early 1950's. I was having quite a bit of dental work done at the same time. What we didn't know and didn't learn until I was in my 30's was that I had a sensitivity to Novacaine. Anyway, our last innoculation at school was the one that didn't involve an actual injection but rather just those little picks all over an area that left you with a round scar. Chicken pox maybe? Anyway, I totally freaked out that day. As I was next in line I tried to escape. They weren't buying that. I bit, I kicked, I scratched, I screamed and I got the darn vaccination anyway whilst I was pinned down on the floor. When my kids were little and getting their vaccinations I couldn't even see the syringe and needle or I started gagging and dry heaving! You think my family doctor didn't have fun??? (We didn't use Pediatricians in our area back then). So, yeah, I've come a long way, baby!!!
