| Re: Osteoporosis in hip causes knee pain?
Last September I was having groin and knee pain as well as hip pain so I went to the doctor. After trying anti-inflammatories, chiropractor, and just staying off it, none of which worked, I asked for a bone density test and an MRI. The bone density revealed osteoporosis in my spine and osteopenia in my hips. The MRI revealed avascular necrosis in my painful hip. When I looked up avascular necrosis symptoms, the groin and knee pain were the most common. AVN is when there's no blood supply getting to the joint, causing the bone to die. Don't want to worry you, but since the symptoms match, you might ask your doctor about it.
