help please RE: osteo porosis related things

not sure if this was right place to post, but wondered if anyone could help please. My mother in law suffers form osteo porosis and last week had a knee replacement, whilst she was in theatre she heard the surgeon talking about it and also her health in general and he mentioned 'pirinic' (her spelling of how it sounded) ive looked on numerous sites and also typed that spelling into the search engine but come up with nothing, I wondered if anyone coudl please tell me if they know what this is and if possible the correct spelling of it so i can read up on it for her, she is worried but didnt like to ask the surgeon what it was. I know its a long shot, but I am forever hopeful. Many thanks in advance.

p.s forgot to add she is also celiac if that helps any.

Re: help please RE: osteo porosis related things

Hi: If you have any questions about osteoporosis, t-scores, bone meds and their side effects I'm sure someone here could help you. Also if you need advice on exercise or supplements plenty of people here know about that too. I haven't a clue what that word means, and think your mil should just ask her doctor about whatever it is that concerns her. There is always a chance that she misheard the word anyway so she should just ask the doctor about her health, if that is what she wants to know.

Good Luck and post back if you have other questions re osteo.

Re: help please RE: osteo porosis related things

I wonder if the surgeon was just talking about her bones being osteoporotic meaning osteoprosis. Does she have it in her bones in her knee possibly? it's weird to be on the operating table and hear the doctors talking about you, I've experienced that.

You can have herrequest a copy of the surgery report and any other reports from doctor's appointments. Also, call the surgeon's office if the documents don't give you the information you need.

Re: help please RE: osteo porosis related things

thank you so mcuh for your replies, and the speed of them.

taape- she does hav eit in her knees and most of her bones now, they said to her during the operation (done by epidural) that her bones were squashing as they clamped, because of the holes in them they have been made soft, she is now also on the list for the other knee doing too, and hopefully she may feela bit better bless her.
