| Re: question
I'm sorry to say I can't answer your question regarding overexcersise and not enough caloric intake, but I do know from my own experience that one doesn't feel early symtoms of early osteoporosis.
that's the scarey thing about osteo.
they say that young woman in their teens should start taking calcium supplements.
they say that woman who are thin, blond, drink too much caffeine's and smoke plus family history were at risk for it. this is when they first started doing studies on it which was back in the 80's. a specific dr who was doing studies on it allowed me to be part of his study that took place in a hospital.
he had many many participants for the study. I already had low bone density for my age bracket back then and I was in my 20's.
I'm now 46. I don't know the numbers of my dexa scan and have to ask for them yet. I do have osteoarthritis in my spine and hips and my wrists hurt on and off from month to month. when I found out I had it seven months ago I lost my job shortly after and have no medical insurance to pay for the medication I"m supposed to take.
I now have landed a job and have to wait 3 months for my insurance to start taking the med's again.
good luck with your diagnosis and health.
wish I could've answered your original question though.
sincerely,
linda
